Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

Backbones Work (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect through backboneswork.com, how we use it, where it's stored and the rights you have over it. It's a working draft, pending a full legal review, and will be updated as our practices evolve.

Information we collect

When you submit a project enquiry, we collect the details you provide: your name, company, email, phone number, country, project type, budget range, deadline and project description, along with any files you attach to the enquiry. Attached files are shared with our team so we can review your enquiry; in our database we keep only their file names alongside the rest of your details, not the file contents themselves.

Conversations with Bone, the chat assistant on this site, happen entirely in your browser. They aren't transmitted to us or stored anywhere.

How we use it

We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and discuss a potential engagement. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties outside of what's needed to deliver the work you've asked us about.

Where your data is stored

Enquiry data is stored securely with Supabase, the hosted, GDPR-compliant database platform we use as our backend infrastructure, and delivered to our team inbox through Resend, our email delivery provider. Both act as processors on our behalf, handle your data encrypted in transit, and are used only for the purposes described on this page. On our side, access is limited to the team members handling your enquiry.

Data retention

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond to you and, if you become a client, for the duration of our engagement plus standard business record-keeping. Data that is no longer needed is deleted from our systems, including our Supabase storage.

Data security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Project material shared during an engagement is covered by signed confidentiality agreements and is never shared outside your assigned team, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with equivalent alignment to EU GDPR for clients in the EU.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your data, and you can object to or restrict how we process it, at any time by emailing contact@backboneswork.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any storage the site relies on is strictly technical, keeping the site working, and is never used to profile you.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as our tools and practices evolve, for example as new Supabase-backed features roll out, and the “Last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
